Activities
Our project provides specialised assistance so that at least 100 Roma survivors acquire their rights under :
- Law 189/2000 (Decree on the granting of certain rights to persons persecuted on ethnic grounds by the regimes established in Romania from September 6, 1940 to March 6, 1945): monthly compensation, medical assistance and medicines, free public transportation, free tickets for treatments in health resorts, exemption from TV and from radio and telephone fees, free cemetery plot.
- Ghetto Pension Act: special monthly compensation/subsidy granted by the German state to those who worked in ghettos or camps during the Nazi era.
Our team will also create an audio/video archive of interviews to be used for educational purposes (to raise awareness of the fate of Roma during World War II) and thus promote tolerance for Roma in mainstream society
